Tuition & Scholarships

There are many ways to save on tuition at Bishop Garrigan Schools. Did you know that the bulk of tuition costs are paid by member parishes, through the contributions of their parishioners? In addition, there are multiple diocese tuition grants available, as well as 529 savings opportunities. Our popular Scrip program provides tuition rebates posted directly to your account multiple times a year. Work study, tuition assistance, and timed payment programs are available for families who find it difficult to pay the tuition amount. No one is ever turned away from Bishop Garrigan or Seton for inability to pay. Below are descriptions of the various ways to save on tuition.

Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Grant

The Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Foundation (MLTF) awards tuition grants to students of qualifying families that attend Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sioux City. We encourage all Bishop Garrigan families to apply for Monsignor Lafferty Funds through the TADS application. Please create an account using an email that you check frequently. The company will contact you through this email regarding the process and questions. The application fee for each family remains at $33. Click here for available scholarships

The TADS application needs to be completed no later than April 1, 2022 for the 2022-23 school year. In addition to your completed application, you must include a copy of current wage and tax information. We urge you to complete the materials early to allow time for notification of any missing materials.

We are happy to assist you with the application process. If you need assistance uploading your tax documents, please contact Beth Byrkeland at 515-295-3521. If you do not have internet access to complete this application online, please call Lynn Miller at 515-295-3521 at the school for assistance.

Use Scrip to Save on Your Tuition

You can reduce tuition for your family when you use Scrip to make your purchases. The Scrip program at Bishop Garrigan is one of the most successful programs of its type. Through the purchase of gift cards, families receive a credit toward their tuition in the amount of 2% – 20% of the card value. Parents, grandparents, and friends can all purchase gift cards that qualify for tuition rebates. People with children too young to attend school can "bank" the assistance money they generate for up to five years for a specific student-to-be. There are over 750 available scrip vendors, including many local merchants. All are welcome to take part in this program.

Tuition rebates can average $500 annually, depending on the family’s participation. For information and a complete list of merchants visit www.shopwithscrip.com. Email Barb Stence or Jill Book with any questions: [email protected] or call the Bishop Garrigan office 515-295-3521. For more information click here.
