Recently our 8th grade students spent the day in a guided retreat at Saints Peter and Paul in West Bend. This is an annual retreat for Bishop Garrigan 8th graders and seniors. The day was spent listening to witness talks and working through cooperative activities. 20 members of the senior class were group leaders. These students guided the groups through discussions related to life as they prepare for high school.
The witness talks from the seniors were reflections on how they have grown since their 8th grade year in relation to self, friends, family and faith. The groups rotated through these four different talks and were given time for reflection and discussion. The students also worked on cooperative activities to work on team building and communication.
The students toured the Grotto and ended their day with a rosary and prayer service. The retreat is a wonderful opportunity for all of the students involved to grow in faith.
