Honor Society Qualifications

The Bishop Garrigan Honor Society honors students who excel in academics, service, and extra-curricular activity during their time in high school. Students must acquire 14 points or higher based on the following rubric to be inducted into the Bishop Garrigan Honor Society. Points are accumulated beginning freshman year. Induction will take place in May of junior year. Invitations to join the Bishop Garrigan Honor Society will be given to qualifying students by Mrs. Wichtendahl. Students need 14 points or higher to qualify for the Honor Society. Calculations are based on the following:



Academics

Academic guidelines will be based on an accumulative GPA through fall semester of junior year.

GPA 3.75 or higher = 6 points 
GPA 3.5 - 3.74 = 4 points
GPA 3.33 - 3.49 = 2 points



Activities
Points will be awarded in the same manner as the Bishop Garrigan activity awards. Please refer to the handbook for the point system. Points are submitted by coaches and activity leaders.

Above 400 points = 6 points
300-399 points = 4 points
200-299 points = 2 points



Service

Service hours may be accumulated through school, parish, or community events. Hours must be logged using this link.

101 and higher = 6 points
75 - 100 hours = 4 points
50 - 74 hours = 2 points



*Students receiving three or more Good Conduct violations prior to induction will not be considered for acceptance into the Bishop Garrigan Honor Society.

*Students receiving a third Good Conduct violation while a member of the Bishop Garrigan Honor Society will be dismissed from the society.
